Purpose

Most church attending eighteen year olds find themselves in an odd position. From the time that they were young they continually attended children’s church. When they entered middle and high school, they attended youth group and the main service. Throughout their church lives, they have always been segregated according to their age. Thus, many young people find it difficult to discover their place in the church.

Living in a college town, we also see many church going students leaving their homes and plugging into the various para-church ministries on campus. While campus ministry is great, their goal is to come along side the church.

This is where the college and young adult Sunday school finds its niche. In addition to exaltation, edification, and evangelization, we exist to transition young men and women into the greater church body so that when they leave the young adult ministry, they are fully integrated and committed to the local body. We want to teach them how to love and appreciate the local church so that whether they stay or move on, they will value and esteem God’s bride, the church. Thus, our goal is to train up godly men and women who will be prepared for a lifetime of ministry within the local body as well as faithfully share the gospel with those outside.
